Nov 5-13: First Friday & Denver Arts Week
It’s the fourth annual Denver Arts Week next week, and tonight is the super First Friday that kicks it off. There is a lot going on if you want to sift through the listings, including things like theater and restaurant specials that I don’t cover here. But what I do cover – contemporary art events – is a long list by itself. Which I’ve of course narrowed down to my select picks so you can pick from my picks. Whatever you do will be great because galleries pull out some of their best shows at times like this. This week we’re starting wide with the out-of-Denver spots then bringing it home to Santa Fe. Plus a few things to check out early next week.
WHITE SPACE | DWR Boulder
Six artists start with a white canvas and have two hours to make it great. Surprisingly, some great work comes out of these events, and I’m sure the energy of the crowd helps the artists perform at their best.
