First Friday
This is a great time of year to hit the First Friday. The art will be stellar because galleries are in their high season, and the galleries will be packed because we’re all waking up from hibernation. To be sure, all the art neighborhoods will be hopping: Santa Fe, Golden Triangle, RiNo. Here are some hot shows to hit, both on and off the beaten path.
Resident Artists Show | The Other Side Arts
TOSA is a funky gallery with some different artists and skills in residence. This is their group show, with all the studios open, plus screen printing and metal shop demos, and an art auction.

Where: TOSA, 1644 Platte Street, Denver, 303.561.3000
When: Friday, March 7th, 7-11pm
Photography Group Show | Rhinoceropolis
Home to dudes/a lady/3 cats, and bands play there. Got it? Well me neither. But the photography show opening this Friday looks great, and I like the name so I’m inclined to check out the place. (see last week’s post for more photography shows during Denver’s Month of Photography)
What: Wonderwall, group photography show
Where: Rhinoceropolis, 3553 Brighton Blvd, Denver
When: Friday, March 7th, 6pm-12am
Recommended Artist (paintings) | CORE
Who is this girl? I thought her work was killer when I first stumbled on to her in the back studios of CORE New Art Space. And most artists, when they hit killer, just hang out there for a while. But she keeps moving. Keeps changing. Keeps getting better. CORE will be having a show in the main galleries, but the highlight might still be Brianna’s studio.
What: Brianna Martray New Work
Where: CORE New Art Space, 900 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, 303.297.8428
When: Friday, March 7th, 6-9pm
